Product Information

Autodesk Envision—Now Autodesk brings spatial data analysis, 2D/3D visualisation and civil engineering tools into one desktop application.

Overview

Get more from all your mapping, civil engineering, and spatial data with Autodesk Envision™ software. Autodesk Envision makes it easy to integrate, visualise, analyse, and present spatial and design data—in one desktop application.

Integration and Visualisation
Autodesk Envision reads major spatial and design data file formats including Autodesk® DWG, Oracle® Spatial, and SHP, so you don’t have to worry about file conversion or the loss of data precision. The software integrates your design and spatial data into a single accurate display, giving your team a clear visualisation of the project. An easy-to-use markup tool enables redlining of maps and designs for more efficient team collaboration and communication. Vector, raster and tabular data formats are supported, and you can use LandXML to pass 2D/3D data smoothly between phases of civil engineering and land development projects. Autodesk Envision helps you gather all your GIS and design data into one clear project.

Spatial Data Analysis

Unlock the potential of your mapping data with versatile analysis tools that compare and evaluate spatial information. You can use measurement tools to accurately calculate lengths, areas, and elevations. Or query specified objects to identify spatial and data attributes. Autodesk Envision also helps you run buffering and “what if” scenarios to reveal trends and patterns. You can also view and orbit 3D terrain data, drape LandXML and raster data over terrain, and create animations.

Civil Analysis Tools
Autodesk Envision helps you perform many civil engineering tasks. For example, you can calculate elevations and cut/fill volumes, and run flood analyses. You can also create “line-of-sight“ 3D perspective views from any point, and query design data attributes on selected objects.

Publication and Presentation
It’s easy to create compelling maps and visual displays with Autodesk Envision software. Even nontechnical users can build precise, vivid plots, presentations, and maps for high-resolution output. And Autodesk Envision generates the project files you need to publish live web-based maps and civil engineering presentations for instant worldwide distribution to desktop and mobile viewers.

Custom Application Development

Autodesk Envision has an application programming interface (API) based on Microsoft’s® .NET technology to help you get more from your software investment. It’s easy to develop modifications to the software that automate tasks or focus the user interface on specific functions. Civil engineers and landscape architects can build tools for slope, aspect, or visibility analysis. Mapping analysts can utilise network trace to perform analyses or automate work processes for more efficiency. And infrastructure managers can develop programs to analyse pipe blockage or other functions.
