Geo Data in Internet and Intranet: TOPOBASE™ Viewers
Data from the Geodata Server TOPOBASE™ should often be available for many users. For that purpose, supplement generally available «viewers» for the Internet, Intranet or stand-alone workstations with the c-plan® modules TB-Generic View or TB-Generic WEB. Thus every view station is turned into an intelligent information station, which can be extended and adjusted to new requirements at any time.

General Online/Offline Viewers
TB-Generic View can be connected directly to Autodesk OnSite 7, ArcView 8.x, Geomedia and MapInfo. Those viewers are capable to access directly the original data in Oracle Spatial.

Online Viewer MapGuide™
MapGuide™ by Autodesk is an online viewer for the Internet and intranet, which is also highly suitable for analyses. With TB-Generic View and/or TB-Generic WEB the customer can access original data (graphics and attributes) in TOPOBASE™, visualize, plot, and print the attributes, and even – with the appropriate access rights – change attributes (e.g. the flushing date).
Thanks to MapGuide™ there are no redundant data. This view station is recommended when several users are to be connected via intranet or Internet.

Offline Viewer with TB-Generic View
On the TOPOBASE™ GIS Workstation, graphics can be stored with the help of the TB-Basic Map module as a DWF or DWG file. These files can be transferred to the viewer by disk or network. At the view station, e.g. VOLO – depending on the task – only one viewer is needed for the display of data or an application for the qualified selection of graphics and attributes. The task of the data supplier is to update the data regularly. VOLO is a viewer for DWF and DWG files, which provides Autodesk free of charge. Together with TB-Generic View this is an efficient off line stand-alone information solution for the community.

Example of a Configuration
You would like to create a workstation on which data from TOPOBASE™ may be displayed and plotted.
Furthermore, you would like to examine attributes entered with the help of TB-Generic, select objects and display the objects found in the graphic. At this workstation, it should not be possible to change data.

You need:

TB-Generic View – Functions
With TB-Generic View you assign and change attributes with the help of the dialog that were prepared in TB-Generic. TB-Generic View must be installed at each workstation on which attributing is to be made. In order to access the graphic data the program requires AutoCAD Map Autodesk OnSite, MapGuide™, Arcview 8.x, Geomedia or MapInfo for online access or VOLO for offline access.

TB-Generic WEB
TB-Generic WEB is the WEB user interface for TB-Generic applications (Dialog) for the visualization/ changing of attributes via standard browsers (Netscape, Internet Explorer) without layout changes of the dialog. In the online connection it can be utilized with MapGuide™. TBGeneric Web is installed once on the server as a servlet and can be used by the clients without any additional installation.
