The city of Enschede in the Netherlands chooses TOPOBASE™ from c-plan.
Being active in the Dutch GIS market for only 4 months, the Dutch c-plan partner
ISSUE in Rotterdam can celebrate its first significant success. Finalized
on Christmas, the 150.000 inhabitants counting city of Enschede, decided to
use TOPOBASE™ in the surveying and real estate departments as their
future GIS.
Eight licenses were acquired to maintain their basic map. The module “Jobs”
will enable Enschede to maintain the different validity levels of data and
allows data exchange with the Dutch Cadastre as well as with external users
using the SUF2- format.
The Geodataserver TOPOBASE™ of c-plan successfully competed against
famous Dutch GIS providers. Henk Achterkamp, manager of “Surveying and
Real Estate” sees his department in a pole position regarding GIS Technology:
“We are convinced of TOPOBASE™.” After the first presentation
it was obvious to us, that this would be the best solution.

In particular the logical open structure of the TOPOBASE™ software,
the numerous standard functions as well as the user friendly interface, made
Enschede decide on TOPOBASE™. All important functions that were required
are included in the standard TOPOBASE™ software modules. Smaller changes
and customization can be carried out by the customer without having programming
knowledge. Enschede put high demands on the use of Industrial standards, conditions
that TOPOBASE™ with the Oracle/Oracle spatial database and Autodesk
Map as graphical front-end completely fulfils.
