EEF and ENSA decide for TOPOBASE™

Both electricity utilities EEF (Entreprises Electriques Fribourgeoises) and ENSA (Electricité Neuchâteloise SA) replace their existing net information system Argis and GICAD/GIRES with the open GIS solution TOPOBASE™ from c-plan.

The big decision came after a comprehensive evaluation process where two companies attended a paid test configuration with benchmark. TOPOBASE™ came out as a clear winner. EEF and ENSA are beside Romande Energie the second and third electricity supplier in west Switzerland which have decided for TOPOBASE™. Mr. Bruno Chardonnens, GIS project leader of the evaluation group said: „TOPOBASE™ convinces through its modern, open and extremely stable architecture.

For these reasons the system offers excellence functionality, easy handling and guarantees a high productivity in the data acquisition, data maintenance and information. Furthermore it will be possible to use synergies with Romande Energie because they also employ TOPOBASE™”.

Both utilities will employ in the future 35 data acquisition working stations and 150 Intranet-Viewers. First discussions are going on for the implementation of SAP connection.
