Approximately 80% of all economic and political decisions are related
to location and residence: they are based on Geo-information. This signifies
data such as coordinates, place names, addresses, etc., which are found in
unmistakable abundance and in the most different types available.
In order to make this enormous resource in specific application fields useful,
and to be efficiently utilized, Geo-Information Systems (GIS) are used.
A Geo-Information system serves for the collection, storage, examination,
manipulation, integration, analysis and presentation of data, in its spatial
context, thus the possibility for evaluations and queries is achieved with
a total new quality. Existing data receives an added value via the room reference.
Geographical evaluations and thematic representations on maps provide completely
new connections and knowledge.
We
are steadfastly disciplined in various ways.
TOPOBASE™ covers the most diverse planning areas in administration,
economy, industry and research today. Coordinated to the individual needs of
energy supply companies, cities and municipalities, engineer and measurement
offices, as well as industry, trade, banks and insurance for the open Geo-data
server TOPOBASE™, several applications were developed
such as: sewer, water, electrical power, gas, district heating, surveying offices,
district planning, city planning, telecommunications, tree-/ green spaces-/
playground land registers, hunting land registers, cemetery land register, and
road maintenance as standard solutions, available and installed by over 700
customers.
These user modules interlock and all information is stored in the central database.
Thanks to the openness and flexibility of the Geo-data servers from c-plan,
the applications are mutually able to be randomly combined and are supplemented
to the comprehensive GIS.
Moreover, the users can define the entire media themselves and according to
need in the simplest way, build up cadastral applications or applications, like
e.g. danger land registers, hiking paths, road signs, etc., for which till now,
no suitable software package existed.
Trust
can not be replaced by anything.
Openness of the system, flexibility in the data structure and interoperable
software components, according to broadly supported standards – these
three criteria stand in the forefront for the cost-conscious and future-oriented
customers of c-plan. Our reference list covers far over 700 fastidious enterprises
and institutions from the most diverse application sectors today.
Concerning our highly developed GIS-products and technologies, you will truly
value our numerous services like e.g. competent training and support. We have
at our disposal intensive seminars available at our locations in Bern-Gümligen
/ Switzerland, in Ludwigsburg/Germany and Münster/Germany, in our own fully-equipped
modern classroom facilities. For individual support, at any time, our engineers
will travel to your location directly, to serve your needs.
Would you like to assess your own potential as well as the application types
of the GIS-technology in the internet/intranet? Do you need a concept for the
introduction or a use analysis of the web technology? You may trust the c-plan®
team with your consultation. We will assist you in all of your questions.
International
standards are in demand.
Today the immense potential that is found in the application of Geo-information
is a long way off from ever being exhausted. This lies primarily in that there
are collectively numerous, different, and incompatible solutions that are being
offered in the GIS-market. To make matters worse, there is a broad use of proprietary
systems and lacking standards.
As a member of the Open GIS-consortium, an internationally orientated non-profit
organization in Geo-computer science, c-plan® actively works in the drafting
of comprehensive specifications for interfaces, which unite transparent access
to heterogeneous Geo data and processes, permitted in a networked environment.
Only in this way can it be ensured that the available technologies in different
fields reach their assets. The Open GIS-syndicate (consortium), founded in 1994,
counts as of today, for over 250 members worldwide from development, research,
administration, and networking operations, with a European growing quota.
When it comes to working on the basics, c-plan® is at the forefront, so
that our customers may use the GIS-applications on the basis of the standard
products, at a profit appreciation.
